I have been using DymaxIO on our instructional and departmental servers at a large state university for close to four years, and it has consistently proven itself to be a solid and dependable product. In an academic environment where performance can fluctuate based on class schedules, LMS activity, and unpredictable student load, DymaxIO has helped stabilize our systems in a way that is both noticeable and measurable.
The biggest benefit has been the reduction of I O bottlenecks during peak usage. When multiple classes are hitting the same resources at the same time, we normally see latency spikes and slower response times. With DymaxIO running, those spikes are significantly reduced. Applications respond faster, workloads feel smoother, and the overall experience for instructors and students improves. These gains are not theoretical. They show up in real classroom use and in the feedback we get from faculty.
Another strength of DymaxIO is how quietly it operates. Once installed, it does not require constant tuning or maintenance. It does not create new administrative overhead. It simply runs in the background and does its job. Over the years it has remained stable through Windows Server updates, hypervisor changes, storage adjustments, and security policy changes. We have never had a conflict or a regression tied to DymaxIO, which is rare for software that sits in the performance layer.
In a university environment where budgets are tight and hardware refresh cycles are not always fast, DymaxIO has helped extend the useful life of existing systems. It gives us better performance without needing to redesign infrastructure or invest in new storage. For instructional servers that support daily teaching activity, this has real value.
After four years of continuous use, DymaxIO has proven to be reliable, effective, and well suited for academic workloads. It delivers what it claims, and it has earned its place in our environment.

This product has saved me from having to upgrade my server and disk drives. My server is a Dell PowerEdge T330 with 32gb ram and 8 disk drives. The disk drives are configured as 4 mirrored drives on a Dell Perc H730 Raid controller. Using CrystalDiskMark to test the drive speed on one of the volumes produced these results:
SeqRD SeqWR RndRD RndWR
281.45 119.23 9.22 12.94 DymaxIO turned off
457.44 109.35 17.11 13.99 IntelliMemory Caching on 1st pass
7302.84 108.37 345.04 14.63 2nd Pass
7153.36 108.74 326.93 15.15 Added IntelliWrite 1st pass
7292.74 109.39 321.15 13.10 2nd Pass
The read performance improvement is significant.
I’m not sure why the write performance is not improved.

Thank you for sharing your experience and detailed results! It’s fantastic to hear that DymaxIO has made a noticeable difference in your server’s performance.
Regarding write performance, you’re correct that the improvement can vary based on the type of writes taking place. IntelliWrite shines most when there are many small, fragmented writes to the same file, as it helps prevent fragmentation at the source. This is particularly beneficial in environments where the same data is frequently read back since it minimizes I/O overhead.
Thank you for using DymaxIO, and we’re thrilled it’s helping extend the life of your hardware!

Review updated 9/5/24 after 1 year of use:
Wow, all I can say is amazing. This software has saved so much I/O time on our hard drives at our university on our main VM production host server. Hundreds of students interface with this server to learn how to use VM’s and it doesn’t even break a sweat. I have noticed that we don’t have to replace hard drives near as much probably because of the lowered I/O time.
540 Days of I/O time saved in less than 365 days of real time. That is incredible.
Thank you Condusiv for allowing me to demo this product to my students. As they graduate I hope they take the knowledge of this product to their careers.
Original review from 9/1/23: I am an educator at a university and I have chosen to incorporate this software into my lessons because of my extensive experience using it’s predecessor “Diskeeper”, going back to the Windows Home Server V1 days. It absolutely speeds up servers and the hard drives last longer since the amount of I/O’s over the life of the drives is dramatically reduced! Well worth the money but Condusiv has chosen to help my class out with some licenses. My hope that as my students graduate and becomes sysadmins they consider this software when performing their duties.

DymaxIO works Superbly!!

We hadn’t even purchased DymaxIO yet, and we had full access to support. The ease of getting up and running was excellent. We tested the waters and, once I was confident nothing was blowing up, we pushed DymaxIO to the ERP hosts. I wanted to see the results in context of our biggest trouble spots before making a decision to purchase. Within days, I had reports back from shipping that scanners were no longer locking up, and there hadn’t been any system crashes. That’s all the verification I needed.

It all started with Diskeeper and Undelete a long time ago. DymaxIO is a more advanced solution for proper maintenance of HDD in general, keeping fragmentation in a cage, which is essential for media servers in post-production. Coupled with Undelete overcoming a massive downside of shared folders over the network (lack of recycling) makes a perfect combination keeping the safety, speed and fluidity at the highest level. I’ll keep you all posted to see how DymaxIO combines with hardware RAID controller regarding RAM caching as one of the weak sides of Windows servers.
IT Director at Community Medical Center –
“We initially purchased DymaxIO I/O transformation software to meet an availability requirement, but what surprised us the most was how much value it added to our aging storage infrastructure by offloading a significant amount of I/O traffic. Not only did we get an immediate performance boost for MEDITECH, but we soon realized that we needed to try DymaxIO on our other Tier-1 applications like NextGen, MS-SQL, MS Exchange, Citrix XenApp, and others.”

As we learned through this exercise with DymaxIO™ I/O transformation software, we were getting hit really hard by thousands of excessively small, tiny writes and reads that dampened performance significantly. It wasn’t necessarily ‘death by a thousand cuts,’ because our all-flash array didn’t ‘die’ from it, but it was more like ‘drag by a thousand cuts.’ Everything was just slower due to Windows Server write inefficiencies that break writes down to be much smaller than they need to be, and forces the all-flash SAN to process far more I/O operations than necessary for any given workload. Not only did DymaxIO dramatically help our write-heavy MS-SQL and Oracle Servers by increasing performance 50–100% on several workloads, it also helped our Veeam backup. But we saw even bigger gains on our read heavy applications that could take advantage of DymaxIO’s patented DRAM caching engine, that put our idle, unused memory to good use. Since we had provisioned adequate memory for these I/O-intensive systems, we were well positioned to get the most from DymaxIO.

I installed DymaxIO a week ago and it was a very easy process. Took a bout 3 minutes. It’s been running for a week and I’ve eliminated 9.2 Million unnecessary I/Os and a couple of hours of storage I/O time saved. I notice faster retrieval of files and data and downloads. Good stuff as usual. And completely unobtrusive to my work.

The software was fast and easy to install! I am already seeing performance improvement! I will be running it for sure on more of our systems
